The smearvets are not heros, they're liars. In their first ad they lied as they announced themselves "I served with John Kerry". In actuality, none of them ever fought with Kerry, they just served in the same theater of operations. Of the smearvets announced on their website, none had ever fought with Kerry and only 2% had even met Kerry. O'Neill, the smearvets leader (originally reecruited by Nixon's dirty tricksmeister Charles Colson who ended up going to prison, where he apologized to all those he had smeared, including John Kerry) then gave a press conference where he claimed he had nothing to do with the GOP. Oh really? In fact O'Neill started out his career as a GOP political operative under Colson. O'Neill can be heard on the Watergate Tapes after Nixon ordered Colson to "destroy" Kerry, meaning to assassinate his character. Furthermore, the smearvets used Rove-linked PR pushers and were funded by Tom Delay's #1 money man, Mr. Perry out of Houston. Colson got the FBI to investigate and surveil Kerry for two years. They were unable to find a single unethical, illegal or un-patriotic thing Kerry had ever done in his life. If any of the smearvets claims were true, the FBI and COlson would have used them. And they were only a few years after Kerry's combat heroism, not 38 years. So that proves once again Kerry was a true blue hero and the smearvets were total liars trying to mislead the American People. Ditto what was done to McCain in 2000, Cleland in 2002 and Murtha now by the way, all Silver Star war heros slandered by the Bushie dirty tricks division.
