That's pretty close, except that those are both big rich countries, and we are small and poor (in natural resources).

I think of Oz as somewhere between NZ and the US. From my limited experience I like Oz and Ozzies - I could easily live in Sydney or Melbourne (haven't been to other cities).

My comment about being glad to have come back here was really about being glad not to be in the US at the moment (for the reasons we both understand). The US has so many good things going for it. One tiny example: I've just been watching the DVD of the latest Curb Your Enthusiasm series from Larry David. One of the funniest moments was when he was about to score with a luscious blonde and caught sight of the photo of Bush on her coffee table. Instant detumescence. "I can't fuck a Republican."
