Cheney is worse than LBJ ever was.

Briody's "Halliburton" book plainly shows Cheney ran illegal operations in Iran, Iraq and Libya during the embargos against that while he was running Halliburton. It shows his these operations helped enrich Saddam Hussein.

It also plainly shows Cheney set up over 50 tax evasion accounts in the Cayman Islands though the US taxpayers were paying the vast majority of Halliburton's revenues. It says HAL has evaded 70 billion worth of taxes, though that seems like way too much. Maybe it was a typo. But even evading 70 million is a huge crime.

It also shows how competitors to Halliburton were kept out of the bidding process once Cheney became VP. It tells how Cheney lied and said he had no influence over Pentagon contracts though he's been a butt buddy of Rumsfeld ever since the Ford administration. It details how a competitor tried to big but was lied to by the Pentagon saying it was "too early" to bid, after they had already awarded the whole kit and caboodle to Halliburton, with no oversight.

It tells how Cheney lied to Tim Russert about divesting all HAL ties when he became VP, then a week later a watchdog group found it was still collecting a mutliple six figure salary and had kept 433,000 HAL options. Once busted, Cheney said he'd give the options to charity, but only after getting busted.

And how Cheney was the Secretary Of Defense when the illegal Pentagon rule was passed allowing one contractor to control all US military out-sourcing. The awardee was Halliburton, which lost it to Dyncorp for four years under Clinton then got it back as soon as Bush-Cheney came into power.

And this is a man you trust and support? Shame on you.
