They're trying to destroy the Jewish state, not their own. I might agree with you that they are succeeding at destroying their own in the process.

They never built their own. Palestinian society was disorganized and controlled by thugs in the 1930s, and has remained so. Tell me, what Palestinian institutions of government or civil society did the Mufti build? Did Arafat build? Nothing but guns and propoganda - Arafat was a mobster, il capo di tutti capi as Gen Zinni called him, who ran a bunch of mobs.

Every bit of Palestinian institutions, such as the Legislative Council, however fragile or corrupt, was imposed on Arafat. He refused to sign the Palestinian Basic Law until what was it, 2003? He ran for office once in 1996, in a rigged election against a token opponent, and never ran again when his term ran out. He built no institutions and destroyed the local ones that mayors had created, accusing them of "collaboration" - a handy capital indictment for any Palestinian who dared to build anything Arafat didn't control.
