I remember White bird well. Beautiful song. A beautiful Day was second and third generation along with crosby stills nash and young, Heart, the great one with Sevie Nix?, and Dan Fogelberg had a sweet voice and was singing at the same time. When I would go into the Filmore in the early 60's ( Qucik silver Messenger Serivice, BB King), the entire world was straight outside that theater. I was in politics in Alaska for 30 years and we Hippies actually gained control of the house up here in the seventies. One of my ex's wives husbands was speaker. We made them legalize pot and we made them put 25% of oil money in a permanent fund for our children and grandchildren and we changed all the rules to be more humane and fair. Established a womens commission, my ex was first director. They wanted to spend all that oil money (i.e. give it theri buddies-lol). That permanent fund now has 35 billion dollars and we pay no state taxes and everyone gets a grand a year. We sort of stuck together and helped each or out. And we had a tough old sourdoe, liberal republican poet (lived in naknek) who was governor and our leader. Jay Hammand. He was Lincolnesk. We were in our early 30's and pretty fearless-lol. We did a lot of good things for the people up here and it was the stuff we learned reading Herman Hess and the multude of debates we had around those coffee tables and candles and incense -lol.
