Does a low end notebook buyer, who doesn't give a hoot about 64 bit, really give a hoot about dual core? There is more software out there that takes advantage of 64-bit than there is software that performs better on dual core chips. Maybe that will change, but for now it is all just marketing.

EXACTLY RIGHT !

IT depts. want a minimum of disruption and the highest level of standardisation to thus minimise manpower/maintenance costs.
