Bush-Rove's McCain smears in 2000 are well documented. Bush-Rove had been defeated in new Hampshire and McCain was ahead in South Carolina. So Rove went to his religious right organizer Ralph Reed (who had been paid off 150 K by Enron) and had him use his operatives to put out anonymous fliers on windshields in church parking lots during services, and a lot of other places.

The fliers said and the whisper/rumor campaign spread quickly that McCain was a traitor in Vietnam, gave intel to the enemy, was a coward and cracked under torture, went crazy, had a terrible temper, was no hero, was a homosexual, and had a bastard ni*ger" child by a black prostitute.

That is exactly what the Bush-Rove smear was, McCain tried to dent it but was suspected by the religious right of some kind of awful immorality, and Bush went on to win. So in 2004, they tried almost the exact same thing on Kerry, but on a national scale, even used some of the same smears. "No hero", "traitor", "Coward", "lied about his military record". We now also see some of the same trash being put out about Murtha. And Max Cleland got it in Georgia too. Anne Coulter lied and said Cleland had blown himself up. Michelle Malkin said Kerry had shot himself to get out of combat. All total lies, all of it.

What we have is an immoral, inept presidency based on cheating and lying.
