There are lots of things we can do for clean water, clean air, and energy independence. I would encourage all of them. But relying on any of those to cure or even significantly mitigate global warming is, well,...

There are several books out there on this. They have all sorts of suggestions- turning the water heater down, hanging clothes on a clothes line, all sorts of things. You might want to surf a couple of books, then choose the suggestions that work for you. Some won't be workable- and that's ok. The most important thing (imo) is that we try to stay engaged in the process of making the world more habitable for humans and other species, rather than less so.
