I can only wonder how deeply the Marines hate the MSM now, knowing that if they perform heroically and win the Medal of Honor, it will barely be reported, if at all, while if a unit screws up, it will not only make Page One, but be gleefully flogged for a month.

Does it not instead bother you that the only expose of errors comes from the media? Leaves me with the impression that the integrity of our military is close to zero, and by association, those who cheerlead for it.

Marines are created from their beginnings in boot camp to follow their leader/s. Their leader is their "pack leader", and they must be lead well by that "pack leader".
The breakdowns that you are discussing are the result of bad "pack leaders".
The press always has and always will bring massacres to the front page.
These massacres are always the result of bad leaders who allow this behavior.
Those who perform well do appreciate medals and awards. They always do.
Good leaders never allow these type of breakdowns in their units.
