The ONLY reason you know about Abu Ghraib is because someone leaked the photos, and the press ran with the story. No other reason. Rummy and Bush weren't sorry about Abu Ghraib - they were sorry the story became PUBLIC.

Just as in THIS case, there are photos from an involved Marine's cellphone, and video from other sources.

If the government could have covered it up, they certainly WOULD have. Especially the Bush government.

That's completely untrue. In both the Abu Ghraib case and this Haditha case, the media only reported after there was an on-going, serious military investigation. They did not break the stories.
