That's true. Here's a proposal for cleaning up the current mess in WashDC--It's time for American voters to conduct a cleansweep of incumbents in the U.S. Senate.

This past May 16 Pennsylvaania voters ousted the top two state Senators in the Republican primary. Both men were first elected at least 30yrs ago. Fifteen long-time members of the state House were voted out of office as well in the party primaries. Voters became enraged when the greedy "Harrisburg Hogs"(legislators) voted themselves a huge unconstitutional pay raise at 2am last July without any public input.

As a result, a grassroots reform movement consisting of organizations from the political left and right almost instantly formed a protest coalition. They organized a rally within wks of the payraise in front of the State House with a gigantic pink pig mascot. After 4mos of voter outrage, the PA Legislature was forced to repeal it's payraise. Reform activists refused to be pacified by that action, and the humungous inflatable pig made appearances at legislators' district offices up until primary election day earlier this month. Many rally attendees wore pig snouts and carried brooms symbolizing the "Cleansweep of incumbents" movement. PACleansweep posted photos in the website's "Hall of Shame" of those legislators who refused to return the ill-gotten 4month pay increase to the state treasury.

PA grassroots activists & legislators alike held their breath on primary election day May 16, 2006. By 7PM election results began to roll in, and reformers started a statewide celebration when it was clear the grassroots cleansweep of incumbents had overthrown the two highest ranked, most powerful state senators in their party primary. National publications acknowledged the PA primary results as an historical event which is expected to spread throughout the USA with the anti-incumbent "cleansweep fever."

Career politicians have become an endangered species in PA. We've learned that long-time office holders become proficient at voting themselves excessive perks without finding solutions for the state's most serious problems.

PA voters plan to continue the Cleansweep of state legislative incumbents in Nov. There have never been so many opponents running against incumbents in state history. Hopefully the movement will spread throughout the land, from coast to coast--with a special focus on ousting long-time U.S. Senate incumbents.

It's become obvious that after a few terms career politicians become arrogant elitists who no longer listen to the people. They need to be replaced with more authentic elected representatives who work for us, not simply for the special interests who finance their re-election campaigns.

Don't let Sharpton, Farrakahn, Jackson, or the REST of the House Black Caucus hear you say that. You will scare the HELL out of them all...
