You obviously have not read the history of the Green Berets. JFK did not form the Army Special Forces. He merely decided that they should wear the beret to signify their special mission.

And things were going very smoothly in Vietnam until JFK was murdereed by the rightwing and the big Halliburton(Brown+Root)-run escalation began.
