It's always easier to attack the man, and to make things up, than it is to credibly attack a well done scientific paper. I have noticed with the Gore movie (which is not a well done scientific paper, but is much more balanced than you might think if you just read the hysteria emanating from certain quarters) that the right has gone to extreme lengths, including outright lies about the movie, and Gore's positions. When any side decides to use lies, they've lost- because lies - at least lies told in the open- tend to be discredited.

There are concerned responsible scientists in the global warming arena working away every day at their research- in fact most of the climate scientists are hard working, honest researchers- it's the grandstanders on both sides that are the problem. There are honest dialogs all the time in the scientific community on global warming- and they look nothing like the crap we see in the press. The press wants the hype (from both sides) because the public enjoys hyperbole- and most people don't have the ability to understand "boring" science literature.
