I don't think the price difference is all there is to it. That's not why I haven't owned an American vehicle for twenty five years! I like to buy reliability, and American vehicles don't deliver like Japanese vehicles do, or haven't in the past.

I just posted that article because you had asked where I had gotten the figures. The health care costs might not be much, but on small, low margin vehicles, they might represent the entire profit made. Which would enhance the manufacturer's desire to sell large vehicles with higher margins. (and lower gas milage)
