American voters have fallen for the "seniority brings home the pork"propaganda for far too long from career politicians...
a nationwide incumbent cleansweep operation would cure that
problem.

PA ousted the two most powerful state senators with a mere 20% voter turnout. That's the beauty of a primary cleansweep....most voters stay home and wait for the Nov general election. Dedicated & determined grassroots
reformists show up to vote on primary day and the
entrenched career politicians are toast.

I wish we could find a way to protect the smaller states who need long tenured senators to protect their interests since they don't have too many representatives.

" they forget the people who sent them there in the first place. One lie broken, then two, and it ends up, they are not the same person you voted for at all."

A Constitutional Amendment with mandated term limits barring any person from serving any combination federal elective offices for more than ten years would change that. I might even go with twelve year, but no more.
