"Anyone else remember the PIII days when the reviewers were able to effortlessly overclock extreme amounts, but production parts refused to overclock much at all?"

Was that around the time that Phuddy-dud had witnessed with his own eyes a sign on the cafeteria wall confirming INTC's PIII limitless MHz in limitless quantity?

CJ,et al - Intel has a lot of motivation to make things look as good as possible now, to prevent further market share loss, unlike when AMD intro'd K7 and K8, when it was to their advantage to keep their cards close to the chest. It may be they have good yields, but it may well be they're having troubles, and are eager to get to 45nm. Time will tell.
