My sister has one of those big $5000 grills. Got it a few years back and had it attached to the natural gas line. The thing had wheels and during a tropical storm it managed to break free of it's mooring and roll over onto its side right on top of the infinity edge pool cover (the pool with a waterfall on the backside) which was probably another piece of equipment costing a ridiculous amount of money.

She called me on her cell phone, standing out in the pouring rain, from the safe perimeter that the emergency response guys had set up around her house because the grill managed to pull out the gas line and break the connection. When she called 911, they told her not to pass "go", to not even think about starting her car in the garage but to leave the house immediately and get at least 200 yards away. Several wet hours later they let her back in but not before the gas company had managed to half destroy the water lines into the pool as they attempted to fix the broken gas line.

The whole story just kept getting worse and worse, to the point where both of us were laughing hysterically over the phone even though we both knew it was going to cost her thousands to get back to normal.

Now the damned thing sits out on the pool deck with a very large chain attached to it. It looks like patio furniture people have in the ghetto anchored with a big chain, stuff that people are afraid will get stolen by junkies looking for anything that isn't nailed down.

The real kicker is that I've NEVER seen them actually use it.

EDIT: BTW her husband, who had insisted on getting it, was, of course, out of town for the week.
