dollar has lost 40% or so against major currencies..that is a LOT.
In late 80s , deficit was about 5% and dollar did get adjusted by 40% or so...
It is not a perfect science, but a super power status does bestow substantial premium to dollar. Besides, US still has the largest pile of gold in its treasury.
So gold speculators may be in for a surprise.
In fact , in today's world of worldwide asset inflation that buffet agrees with, dollar cash/treasuries may be the best bet.
