ST sees phase-change memory in volume at 45nm. eetasia.com

Older article explaining phase-change memory (essentially going forth and back from solid to fluid): sciencenews.org It makes use of similar materials as compact discs. It can potentially replace most current types of memories (flash, sram, dram) but is still quite a bit behind in that it's not nearly as mature as those. It'll take till the end of the decade. Intel is working on it among others also having demonstrated low density memory. Philips might have an edge in materials used. Progress is of course slower than originally expected (that seems to be a given in the memory industry for as far as it concerns developing new technologies).

When is the lockup for insiders expiring? Was it sometime early June or July?

IIRC, insider AMD is locked up until the 1st anniversary. Maybe others are locked up for six months, until June.
