Hi Don,

A very reasoned response.

I can't help but think "Deja Vu" to what happened in 1998.

98 was a final shakeout that occurred based on the Asian Contagion. The collapse of the Thailand Baht spread to other asian currencies (especially S.Korea as I recall).

All of which seemed to do nothing to a growing backlog in Semi companies and a quick but nasty shake out that set up Wall Street to making a killing in the following bull run of 99-00.

I see this new Tresury Secretary setting up a wave of selling that started in Asia, went through Europe and then took down the U.S. markets.

Futures this A.M. have reversed this early morning as Europe opened weak and reversed.

Not calling it over but major indices have held minor violations of their 200 dma.

This in the face of increasing backlogs and good earnings - getting better.

I'd say we need to be careful about over leverage and place those low ball orders out there, half hoping they never fill and half hoping you can steal a great stock at book or just above.

As you point out - there is no point in fighting the market - my purchasing power, alas, will not turn Wall Street.

So just where do you think the rubber hits the road?

Bob
