I live in Colorado. Public transportation is not yet popular in the mainstream. Currently the typical users are people who can't get a driver's licence, with some commuter exceptions. We are getting ready to light up some new legs to our Light Rail system within a month or two. When that happens, I plan to take a weekend to scoot around the Metropolitan area with my 8 year old daughter, using a combination of light rail and city bus. We will spend a night in a motel in a part of town we don't usually visit to make the whole thing more venturous. It will be like a carnival ride for her, and I might even get acclimated to using public transportation.
