Did I misunderstand? Yes, I think so. Had she meant that Bush used those exact words, I think she would have put her "mission accomplished" in quotes because that is correct English usage. Although many posters are sloppy in their English, she's typically not one of them. I read what she said as Bush having said, in effect, "mission accomplished" but not with those exact words. That's the difference between quotes and no quotes, for those of us who are into nuance <g>. Had it been a different poster, one of the sloppy-English ones, then I could buy your interpretation.
