Agreed, to a point.

AMD: "If we give you a new feature in an AMD CPU, you will not ignore it for a year."

Still, this is probably a pump and dump scheme.

Nevertheless, if I were running Strategic Planning at AMD, I'd have answers the questions:
"What do we do if INTC buys NVDA?"
"What can we do before that happens?"
"Or What can we do to keep it from happening?"

I would rather have Microsoft buy ATI. ATI has always had a tremendous weakness in its drivers and occasionally in its manufacturing, not in its silicon design.
