A paragraph would be better than several multi-page expositories. I'm familiar with Lamark. His theory of aquired traits does have some merit in non-biological evolution where memes do not require a single set of parents.

We are entering an era where genes may be modified by mechanisms other than descent. The implications of Lamarkian evolution will increase in relevancy as gene engineering progresses.

There is also a phenomina where RNA molecules which are present in the body of the sperm and egg can effect the offspring.
