No, Kerry was a prosecutor and nailed one of Whitey's big guns. Can't remember the name. Maybe it was "The Riflemen" Flemmi, maybe someone else.

If you really want to read about what a tough prosecutor Kerry is though read "A Full Service Bank" about BCCI and how Kerry brought them down. That time he had to nail a top democrat too, Clark Clifford. One of the real patriarchs of the Dem party. Kerry didn't even flinch. Just nailed him.

BCCI Bank was the money laundering source for what would become Al Qaida, as well as shady Arab Shieks, Colombian drug lords and some far-right black ops types, the types many of us believe assisted in killing JFK. Singlaub and Poixdexter, those types. The Iran-contra mentality crowd. The shadow government. Kerry took on them all and won.

When I met Kerry in the 80's he was busy trying to bring down the Medellin Cartel. That was his main focus in the senate. He succeeded, despite the fact the CIA and Iran-Contra guys exposed some of the DEA's biggest covert sting operations. When Reagan showed the photo of Barry Seal to try and nail the Sandinistas with drug-running, that ruined a huge DEA sting op which would have nailed Escobar years earlier. Kerry was furious about that.
