What people never seem to talk about with Death Valley are the valleys (old riverbeds I presume) that empty into Death Valley. The rock formations are BEAUTIFUL, and so smooth you could run your cheek on them. Some are so narrow you can touch both sides standing in the middle.
My wife and I have visited 48 of the 50 States, only Alaska and Washington have we missed. We have been to nearly every national park including all the famous ones in those 48 states. At Yellowstone, my wife took a liking to those Geysers (which I dont care for that much cause they stink) and she insisted we hike to EVERYONE. In the center of a bunch of them I had to wear a bandana over my nose and mouth. One is next to a lake, you can catch a fish, fling the line over your head behind you with the fish and boil it in the geyser behind you. jdn
