What's Teddy too liberal about? As for good ole boys, that's what Texas is famous for. Texasole boys clubvs are still very much in operation, more than ever maybe. The old northern city boss network is long gone. No more Boss Tweeds and even Chicago is fairly open now.

Teddy Kennedy is an incredible old goat. Not that loveable maybe, and certainly flawed, but not corrupt, hasn't sold out, hasn't betrayed the people. Never has. He betrayed himself for sure though when he let his morals go. But the stress of two brothers murdered combined with having to take over the patriarch role while still in his 30's, with a crazy wife and nasty divorce to boot, could drive any man to drink.

Bush and Cheney are both admitted ex alcoholics, and Bush is even rumored to be back on the bottle now. I prefer sober politicians. Drinking is a sign of weakness. That's why Teddy never got close to the White House himself, he likes to party. But only after the homework is finished.

Kerry btw does not drink except an occassional beer. Only goes for slight buzzes. Like to stay sharp. Wants the weight of the world on his shoulders, wants it very much. Wants to help change things for the better.
