That's a very intesting chart. If my memory serves, we had about 4200-4400 land rigs in the US alone at the peak of '81-82 where your chart shows a peak of maybe 6300 worldwide. Now there are only 2700 rigs world wide? Kinda makes 'ya think they're runnin' out of ideas where to punch holes.

PS: Don't argue with the data, BHI is considered the authority on rig count. What's not clear to me is the marine rig count in this picture.

Bottom line, less drilling and higher prices today.
