Unless of course 'flesh coloured' is generally understood (in Seattle at least) to mean pinky-white.

There used to be a pinkish color crayon in the Crayola box called "flesh." It was way paler than my flesh color. I don't know what it's called now or whether they even have that color. It seems to me tacky in this day and age to continue to call it that.

I used to wear a wonderful color hose called "nude" from the Hanes folks. It was considerably darker than the "flesh" Crayola so I don't know how to reconcile them. There probably isn't any good reason for naming a hosiery color "nude." OTOH, it doesn't seem tacky to me to do so.

Seems to me that there's some space between "tacky" and "cultural racist." Not sure where Crayola falls.

But anyone fool enough to memo that is either in full CYA mode or has too much time on their hands.

It would seem so.
