ELM- "Capital should spread more evenly."

Well, the US is starting to do it's share to make this happen. After a long spell as an accumulator, we have become a very efficient distributor. And I hope the rest of the world is properly appreciative of this... ggg

I think with globalization, this is inevitable, though I wouldn't be so bold as to suggest a time frame, except long enough to ensure lots of suffering for those presently impoverished.

Why should we expect nations to distribute capital when almost all individuals work like mad to accumulate it?

Every once in a blue moon, a person gets a philanthropic or charitable idea, but these don't happen frequently enough to be more than gestures.

No, money gets distributed unwillingly, when bigger or smarter forces make it happen. And don't underestimate the ability of most people to live with the stench of accumulated capital. The wealthy all over the world seem to be able to do it just fine...
