I just watched the trailer again-- strikes me as a perfect example of Karen's enthymematic argumentation. The footage went right to Katrina as he said "increased temps caused stronger storms" and "biggest crisis in history of country" and "HKat slams into NO". So whether he said it directly or not seems unimportant to me; he certainly intended that to be the message. It's a movie trailer. Of course he wanted to grab attention. The big dramatic booms! The water covering the WTC (love the symbolism of that one). The refugee crisis pictures.
Not sure why the use of pictures isn't considered "saying" something. But he didn't actually use the WORDS.
You both win.
