You are too bright too make such biased and sweeping general comments. Issues, opportunities and implications related to national and regional economic development are a bit more complex than a quick skim over the surface will reveal.
Dont let the current market cloud your otherwise sound sensibilities.

PGM's: I screwed that post up pretty good. More than usual-lol.

I meant to say 80% of pt is in south Africa. And it covers hundreds of miles of reefs. But very expensive to get out. But if PT is needed for catalysts a price of $2,000/$3,000 an oz may be enough to do large scale mining in south Africa and there is lots of PT there.

I meant to say 50% of PD(can't remember exact amount) is in Russia (most at norilsk).

Most of the PGM's are in those two countries, so they could easily form a cartel like opec.
