I think you just confirmed my case. Despite all their digging, all the Globe could find is a connection between O'Neill and Nixon in 1971, during the same controversy that put O'Neill on the Dick Cavett show. Since then, nothing - except clerking for Renquist, which btw only means that O'Neill is a damn fine lawyer, not that he's a partisan. He probably also commits the sin of being towards the conservative side of the spectrum, which it may be news to you, is not the same thing as being a creature of Karl Rove.

You have to know that the Globe looked very hard for anything that could tie to O'Neill to the RNC or Rove. If that's the best they could do, it's piffle.
