Stan..All of those sources you mention are so old. Even Jamieson-Fausett-Brown is referred to as an "old" commentary. I can't contact those people, but YOU could contact Prof. Fredriksen at Boston University or Prof. Meyers at Duke University or if you like the southern approach, Prof. Michael White at the University of Texas. Those people are living and have the resources of modern linguistics and existing historical thought to have made their analyses. NONE of the gospel writers ever met Jesus.
