Well, maybe it's not a convenient diversion and I do think it is a serious issue. The solution to me seems pretty simple, though. So I don't know why all the ballyhoo. This is OUR country. It does not belong to illegals. Therefore, the solution is as obvious as the nose right on our faces. Who gives a shit if an illegal doesn't like the laws we pass in our country and the enforcement power we put behind those laws? Not our problem. Now having said that, we need to be very careful that we don't become a stagnant European-like country whose population stops growing. Immigration is the key to that as our workforce ages. We need that population growth to sustain these crazy defined-benefit programs like healthcare and social security that we have in place. Otherwise, those programs will bankrupt our country.
