Atrocities are not phony, they are very real and very damaging to our country. And the cover ups of atrocities are almost as bad. Same with political corruption, election fraud, smear campaigns, pollution and all the othe crimes. We need to deal with them realistically and make sure they never happen again.

It's true, atrocities happen in ever war and our enemies commit them, but we are supposed to be better than them. We are supposed to have morals and ethics. But some of us do not.

The liars of the smearvets and other rightwing propagandists and revisionist historians who try to whitewash Iraq and Vietnam, who deny My Lai and all the rest were real do their country no favors. Covering up these crimes is always worse than admitting them and fixing the problem. Same with friendly fire cases like how Pat Tillman was killed. If we can't reality with reality we are living in a fantasy world and that leads to insanity and even worse mistakes.

The problem with the Bushie rightwing, and those smearvet extreme rightwing types from the Vietnam era is that telling the truth just isn't important to them. Or they are afraod of the truth, whatever. Well most Americans are not afraid of the truth and we feel the truth is what we need to deal with, not rightwing myths.

dishonesty is what causes these senseless wars based on lies. They are tremendously costly to us all and must never happen again.
