Nadine -

What media are you talking about? The media jumped all over CBS about the forged photocopies. But the Swift Vets' charges were repeated and repeated, and taken quite seriously. Their ad was played over and over again on CNN for free.

Obviously, bias is in the eye of the beholder.

omigawd, you mean they got money from a Republican?!

Not just a republican, a major Bush campaign supporter.

So a Republican gave them money, so what? you couldn't expect a Democrat to do it. George Soros and Moveon.org gave out millions in that election, I don't notice you claiming that it invalidated the testimony of those who received it.

What smear campaign where they backing?

The contrast between how the media handled the combined Swiftvet testimony and how it handled the forged photocopies that Burkett handed to 60 Minutes couldn't be starker. The rules of evidence are clearly vastly different, depending which party you are attacking.

The Burkett Memos were frauds. It was reported as such and it was over. The smearvets were frauds as well, but they stayed in the news for months and months, even after they have been shown to be partisan liars.

Yep starkly different.
