And Truman's courageous decision to force Japan's surrender with the bomb saved hundreds of thousands of lives. That action is acknowledged by historians as a wise decision by the right man, in the right job, at the right time. My appreciation for chief execs include those of both political persuasions, especially when we consider the fact that Democrat presidents in the 1940s through 1960s were more conservative than many of today's Republicans. They became more radical with Jimmy Carter...he continues to make stupid decisions.
