woggut, re: From what I've read the AMB on the FBDIMMS adds about 5 watts per DIMM. Using 16 x 1GB instead of 4 x 4GB inflates the power requirement by 60W. Anyone know the performance impact using fewer large FBDIMMS vs many small ones? Unfortunately for Intc, Crucial is listing the 4GB FBDIMMS at $5300 vs $290 for 1GB.

This is a tasty tidbit. Begs the question, why no FB memory for Conro and Merrom.

The MC buffers, are they adequate? Did Intel leave the lower siblings barefoot? Just speculating at this point, but might not Conro = Crash-Mo.

If Intel has trouble with MC technology and no CSI insight how will they be a contender for the powerful networks necessary for Enterprise. I'm reminded of how much peripherals improve the functionality of a home computer. Much more so, the larger the network. Connectivity trumps megaCache. IMO

Now we begin to see "the rest of the story" TM Paul Harvey.
