I cannot believe you are standing up for the ACLU I don't think either CB or I are "standing up for the ACLU". Much of what they do is repugnant to me. But really, the characterization is unfair, and probably flat out false. We can disagree with them without resorting to MoveOn.org tactics. Derek

I cannot believe you are standing up for the ACLU. First, I have collected attorney's fees after winning civil rights judgments in federal court, so I know how the statute works. Second, I don't agree with everything the ACLU does but they do some very good things which I approve of. Probably about 50-50. Third, I'd like to know more about the case in Florida. I know nothing about it, but am aware that there is controversy over the phrase "under God." "Under God", by the way, was not in the original Pledge of Allegiance but put there during the Cold War as a reaction to Communism.
