Geoff, The Priminister is has the same duties, and power, as our President does. He is the one in control, while the royals are nothing but spoiled people that happened to descend from corrupt, murderous kings.

I don't know exactly what you mean be "nationalized" but all of the factions, other than the Britons, have been taken by force, and they are very unhappy about it. Scotland has already been able to form their own parliament, Canada has it's own government, Australia and New Zealand have done the same. The British were kicked out of India with their tails between their legs like cur dogs, so where is the power you mention. Australia was a debtors prison on a small continent, and the royals couldn't stop them from becoming independent. Ireland, and Wales, care nothing about royalty, and will one day break away from it.

All the royals are is eye candy, and fodder for the gossip magazines, and are paid far too much for such little service. There is no such thing as blue blood.
