I was a freshman in high school. I was on my way to an early lunch period when I passed the audio visual room, where I noticed that everyone was gathered around a television set. They kept my school open for another two periods. All of the teachers were crying. When they let us out I ran the entire two miles home. The next few days were surreal. I remember thinking that nothing was ever going to be right again in the world. The innocence, at least my innocence, was gone. That was a very sad day.
