It's all relative. In a world comprising "skittish at the best of times" AMD investors, any negative media sentiment, with merit or without, is too frequently met with a severe case of AMD investor angst.

Prudential is the only analysis I've seen that even attempts to reconcile current AMD progress/actions with the 33% marketshare goal in 2008.

Way back in 2000, Jerry was talking about the "antidote to Intel venom" being volume, with projections of 30-35% marketshare a couple of years in the future. It is very remarkable that 30% marketshare is still 2 years in the future. This is one of the primary reasons AMD investors are skittish.

I've actually been doing OK sitting on the sidelines with very short day/couple day trades in the low 30's. There are other ways to make money off AMD rather than waiting for a moonshot. Making money is what I'm after, not cheerleading some victory of AMD over Intel.
