Exactly! AMD can sell all it can produce at 90nm through to the end of the year. (In fact, AMD needs Chartered's assistance to meet growing demand, it seems.) So why wouldn't AMD do just exactly that?

Probably. But we have had assertions that they haven't even taped out, much less had first silicon, much less be able to do demos.
