For example, if I am holding 100 in-the-money calls, will my broker allow me then to short 10,000 shares without any additional margin requirements? The answer is no. The margin reuirements for shorting 10,000 shares is the same with or without my 100 in-the-money calls with my broker.

I'll keep an eye on those July calls as we approach earnings date as a similar opportunity to the Dell news just might present itself if AMD's price drops below $30 support

IMO, AMD is definitely in the trading zone for me, and I think, will trend down, so not a long term hold here.

More and more, the issue for both AMD and Intel is the lack of much improved software which can effectively use the processing power both of them are clearly going to deliver in the near term. Dual-socket quad-core on the desktop by the end of next year is going to happen, but what's the point with the current apps?

Now should be a very fertile time for AI apps to revolutionize the industry, but I don't see any good prospects. I'd love to invest in some.
