Bush and the rightwing are trying to "blame it on the Mexicans" this seasons. Only problem is Bush had 13 years to do something about illegal immigration and never did. That's the issue for me. As for solutions, very tough. Kennedy-McCain seems as goo as any other idea. Have to be realistic.

Once again, illegal immigration did not start 6 years ago. Its been going on for decades.

The illegal immigrants in this country are not unlike parasites. Parasites can be very beneficial for the host body.........they may consume the waste generated by the host or they may perform some job or function that the host doesn't or can't do itself. However, there comes a point when the parasite becomes a problem. Equilibrium can no longer be maintained;an imbalance develops and the relationship becomes less beneficial to the host. In fact, the host starts to flag because of the growing imbalance. Eventually the host either dies or manages to throw off the parasite. Usually its the former, not the latter. Why? Because usually the host doesn't realize that it has a problem until its too late.

I realize that many might object to the analogy but that's maybe because the analogy strikes too close to home.
