Now, really, do you think Gore ever lacked reflection, honesty or conviction? Spontaneity, natural charm and the ability to win a sceptical audience, sure; speaking to an audience without seeming to lecture or patronise, generally missing. Which IMO would prevent him ever convincingly winning a presidential election (maybe not the vote...).

But Bush, OTOH, certainly lacks reflection; and his behaviour over Iraq etc proves he either lacks honesty or is deliberately blind to the truth.
However hopefully he won't lack for conviction once he's no longer President. I figure 20-30 years without the option should be a fair level of conviction.
