gg cox....."You will have to change the makeup of the supreme court. How do you propose to do that lorne?Look south of the border where it is a continuing struggle betwen sides like yours and mine.Which is a better system?? i don't know..but at least both countries are not ruled by the AK47."....

You really like to make this a personal " lorne " thing don't you.

I and millions like me don't make or change the laws we vote for and elect people to govern our country and enact laws to protect our country, society and way of life....sometime the wrong people get into that position.

...."continuing struggle betwen sides like yours and mine.".....

And those two sides would be?

...."i don't know..but at least both countries are not ruled by the AK47.".....

Not yet.

<<IMO if we have laws that are to liberal....change them just like we enacted them in the first place>>

You will have to change the makeup of the supreme court. How do you propose to do that lorne?Look south of the border where it is a continuing struggle betwen sides like yours and mine.Which is a better system?? i don't know..but at least both countries are not ruled by the AK47.

The problem is, and will be that our supreme Court is a reward to good party supporters, and most of the present appointments were made by a party with the moral character of pit vipers. Had President Clinton asked Chretien to tighten up our borders he would have complied. As it is we harbour terrorists and killers and toss out people who want to work. We encourage immigrations of people with no marketable skills and then support them. But all those Liberal sins aside, the worst thing that Canadians have done is to promote Terrorism all over the world. Canadians paid for weapons and bombs starting in Northern Ireland, and continuing right up until today with the Tamil Tigers. We have trotted out into the world condemning this and that and meddling in other cultures and welcoming people dedicated to overthrowing the governments of the countries they left. Now we have the Muslims, we have not encouraged others to accept the Canadian Culture of acceptance. So Muslims feel they have the right to dictate how others will live, you have only to look at countries where they obtain a majority to see how they enforce their belief system, because it is a part of their belief system. While Canadians do not have a particular code of Right Action, Muslims do, and our system is loath to engage them, and their religion to make them allow the same freedom to Canadians in Canada that they have been given.

Now we have some young men charged with deciding to kill Canadians. Our own system has failed us. Because we have not insisted that new Canadians adopt the same philosophy that allowed them to become Canadians, the rights of others to exist in Canada as they wish to exist. The sorrow is that they did not succeed in their efforts. Had they done so, Canadians would have lost their complacency and perhaps our society would have looked at what it is creating.
