Yes, AMD starts out new processes with high volume mid range parts - slower than the fastest parts on the previous generation where they have the best process data - while they accumulate APM data.

Uh-huh. Even 90nm was not 3 speedgrades back from 130nm.

Do you realize how utterly screwed Intel is if they have any teething problems with CWM on their 65nm process?

Do you realize that nearly all NGA samples appear to clock to 3GHz on air and default voltage, regardless of official speedgrade, and with a little voltage they approach 4GHz, with exotic cooling added, 5GHz. What does that tell you about the presence of lack of teething problems with NGMA on 65nm?

They also don't want to Osborne parts made on their previous process. If the 90nm parts ship faster than the 65nm parts (at first) it helps keep demand up for the bulk of parts still being produced.

This is one of the most ridiculous excuses I've seen in a long time. Pure comedy.
