The Taliban holds sway in all areas of Afghanistan outside of Kabul.

In Iraq, Americans continue to live in the "Green Zone" and those who venture out are struck by IUDs. during the Saddam years, anyone plotting against the Govt. was done away with. BUt the others were assured of security on the streets, food, electricity and the basic essentials of life. Today that is gone.

The terrorist threat has not abated. Recall the Umar Hayyat case in Lodi, CA and the recent bust in Canada. The bust in Canada was not by the Canadian army is it? Or was it by the law and order forces of the Canadian Mounted police.

The terrorists succeeded because Bush fell asleep at the wheels. The terrorists will always be around. The only way of fighting them id be ever vigilant. Sending in the US military into countries does not eliminate the scrouge of terrorism.

The age old adage: Eternal vigilance is the price for liberty and freedom.
